The Boys Varsity Basketball team (16-6, 3-0) capped off a fun and festive Homecoming week with a lopsided 78-39 victory over Oakbrook on Friday night. The two teams sparred early and entered the 2nd quarter with the score knotted at 14. From there it was all Griffins.
Spartanburg Day School opened up a 14 point halftime lead and used a decisive 3rd quarter to put the game away. Zion Williamson led the charge with 48 points, eclipsing the 2,000 point mark for his high school career. With a season and a half remaining for Williamson, he is on pace to break the state record for most career points in high school.
Chandler Lindsey joined Williamson in double figures with 14, as all healthy players saw meaningful and extended action in the victory. SDS goes on the road to face Shannon Forest on Tuesday night in another region matchup.
